Already today in our pilot plant in Vienna, soon also in Chile.

BioBitcoin combines solar energy, sustainable agriculture, clean water and Bitcoin mining in its own ecosystem. Our goal: to develop a regenerative project in the Chilean Atacama Desert that redefines nature, technology and sustainability.

But we are not starting in the desert - our Pilot project in Vienna is already in full swing:

  • The solar system with storage tank has been successfully installed and is supplying the first green energy.
  • The second Bitcoin miner is connected and running - powered by Wiener Sonne.
  • Our first chilli plantssprouting on the roof garden in Margareten, show tangible life in the project.
  • And in parallel: Intensive programming and testing - We are developing the software, governance logic and oracle production that will later be scaled up in Chile.

The Atacama Desert in Chile is the ideal location for the BioBitcoin project, as it is one of the sunniest regions in the world. With over 320 days of sunshine per year, it offers perfect conditions for solar energy generation and sustainable Bitcoin mining. The dry, clear air maximises the efficiency of the solar panels, while the vast, uninhabited areas offer space for innovative agriculture and energy projects. Sun, technology and nature come together perfectly here - for a green, forward-looking crypto infrastructure.

We are currently running our pilot project directly in our blockchain hub in Vienna. Here, we are testing and optimising initial components such as solar panels, irrigation systems, Bitcoin miners and weather stations on a small scale. This test lab serves as a blueprint for the future main site in the Atacama Desert in Chile, which is already being planned and developed in parallel. In this way, we are combining European innovative strength with Chile's unique natural resources - for a secure, scalable and global expansion of the BioBitcoin project.

The challenge: resource scarcity and climate change

Our world is facing unprecedented challenges related to resource scarcity, climate change and environmental degradation. Traditional economic models have often led to an unsustainable use of natural resources, as they do not adequately internalise external environmental costs and do not take long-term ecological impacts into account.

The three fundamental resources - water, land and energy - are under particular pressure:

Water

Despite its vital importance, fresh water is often used inefficiently, polluted and undervalued. The World Bank estimates that around 6 billion people could be affected by water scarcity by 2050.

Country

Land degradation, deforestation and unsustainable land use practices threaten food security and biodiversity. Around 33% of the global land area is already moderately to severely degraded.

Energy

The transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources is crucial to tackling climate change, but traditional market mechanisms have not driven this transition fast enough.

These challenges require innovative solutions that harmonise economic incentives with ecological sustainability.
