Our pilot plant starts

🌱 The first plants in the BioBitcoin pilot garden

Peppers, chilli & banana plants are the start

A small but significant milestone for our BioBitcoin project: we have planted the very first plants in our pilot plant! Among them: robust peppers, fiery chillies and a small banana plant that will soon bring a touch of tropical flair to our little oasis.

🚿 Irrigation? Already installed!

At the same time as planting, we also put the first irrigation system into operation. A smart Gardena water computer will ensure precise drip irrigation in future - depending on the position of the sun, humidity and schedule. This gives us a system that can later be scaled up to larger greenhouses and fields.

🌿 This is how it went:

  • First, the plant pots were prepared and drainage layers were laid out with expanded clay (see photo).
  • We then filled in high-quality soil and planted the first pepper and chilli seedlings.
  • The small banana plant was also allowed to move directly into the fresh substrate mix - in the medium term, it will also demonstrate how tropical crops can thrive in regenerative cultivation.
  • Irrigation, sensors and controls have been set up and tested - everything is running!

💡 What excites us so much about it:

These small plants symbolise the BioBitcoin vision:

  • Efficient irrigation powered by renewable energy.
  • Local, healthy food production directly on site.
  • Smart infrastructure that will later also function DAO-controlled and tokenised.
